Solo is a 2017 bilingual anthology film written and directed by Bejoy Nambiar with Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role. Shot simultaneously in Malayalam and Tamil, production began during November 2016. Solo tells the story of four different people, each story revolving around four different elements: Earth, Fire, Wind and Water, each with the different facets of Lord Shiva The film was released on October 5, 2017 in both Tamil and Malayalam worldwide.
World of Shekhar (Blind Love)
A wounded Shekhar (Dulquer Salmaan) lies on the road after an accident. We’re brought four years earlier where Shekhar, a kind but assertive student, alongside his best friend Pattu (Soubin Shahir/Sathish) and gang beats up Sanju. A student, Sanju is beaten up on the issue that Nelson (Siddharth Menon), who's Shekhar's friend, and Sanju are in love with the same girl Radhika (Dhansika) who is blind, a free-spirited dancer. Radhika rejects them both by saying that she loves Shekhar. After realizing that her love is true, Shekhar falls in love with her.
Four years later their relationship is disrupted by Shravan (John Vijay), Radhika's brother. Both families meet in order to discuss the relationship and everyone becomes shocked after Radhika reveals she is pregnant with Shekhar's child. Radhika's family does not let Shekhar see her, but later both of them marry with the consent of their families.
On the wedding night, Radhika tells Shekhar that her father always cared for her and always felt so safe that her father was beside her. Shekhar promises that he will do the same for their child. After recovering from the accident, Shekhar goes to see his newborn daughter and Radhika. It is then revealed that Radhika has died of complications in childbirth and out of grief Shekhar lost control of his bike and collided with a truck causing the accident. The story ends years later with Shekhar playing with his daughter on the same beach where Radhika went with her father.
World of Trilok (The Cyclist)
The story begins with Ayesha (Arthi Venkatesh) whose cycle collides with a BMW driven by Thomas Zachariah (Renji Panicker), a rich businessman. Zachariah's son in law Justin (Anson Paul) decides to save her, but Zachariah declines by saying they will be arrested for drunk driving. Justin puts her in the car anyway and rushes to the hospital, but Ayesha dies on the way. Instead of taking the body to the hospital, Zachariah disposes it on the road.
Four years later, Justin and his wife Annie (Ann Augustine) are saddened by the demise of Zachariah. After returning from a business deal, Justin discovers that his car brakes are not working. The car crashes leaving Justin wounded, but he is saved by Dr. Trilok Menon (Dulquer Salmaan), a veterinary surgeon. As Trilok rushes to the hospital with Justin, Justin notices a photo of Ayesha in Trilok's car and realizes she was his wife.
After recovering, Justin tells everything to Annie and decides to tell the truth to Trilok. Justin narrates the whole incident and Trilok asks him whether he can feel his hand. Trilok reveals that it was really him who killed Zachariah, that the accident was orchestrated by him too, and he also injected a drug in Justin's drip a few minutes back which would make him brain dead. He says he was tracking them all these years and had heard everything that Zachariah and Justin said during the incident through Ayesha's bluetooth earbuds, telling him that she was pregnant and still alive even after they disposed of her. Trilok then exits the room leaving Justin to die.
