Chattambi (2022) - Download & Reviews
Story: "Chattambi" delves into the life of a village enforcer named Sakharia George, also known as Karia (played by Sreenath Bhasi). He works for John (Chemban Vinod) and his associate Baby (Binu Pappu), controlling Kuttar, a border village in Idukki. Their activities involve producing illegal arrack and lending money. Karia, despite his rough demeanor and constant intoxication, is both loved and despised in the village for his kind deeds and ruthlessness respectively. However, when Karia begins to feel unappreciated by John and decides to leave, tensions rise, leading to a series of events that determine the fate of everyone involved.
The film, set in 1995, presents a unique, non-linear narrative. Its raw and authentic quality, coupled with a straightforward plot, keeps the story engaging. Credit goes to scriptwriter Alex Joseph and debut director Abhilash S Kumar for maintaining a brisk pace. However, at its core, "Chattambi" is a gritty, uncomplicated revenge tale.
Sreenath Bhasi's portrayal breathes life into the character of Chattambi. Grace Antony, Mythili, and Chemban Vinod also deliver noteworthy performances.
